Patients administered with this medication may experience diarrhoea (frequent watery stools), constipation (difficulty in passing stools), and stomach upset. Rarely, a very serious allergic reaction to it may occur which is characterized by rash (change in color and texture of skin), itching and swelling especially of face; tongue; throat, severe dizziness (feeling of being sleepy), and trouble breathing.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity and should not be used if patients have abrasions, peptic ulcer (ulcer in the stomach or duodenum), acute dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
