Description
May stimulate alpha-adrenergic receptors in the arterioles of the conjunctiva; produces vasoconstriction
May produce mydriasis when applied to the conjunctiva, but this effect is usually minimal with the concentrations used as ocular decongestants

Conjunctival Congestion
Temporary relief of ocular redness caused by irritation & relief of burning or irritation caused by dry eyes

Warnings
Ask a doctor or pharmacist if Visine Advanced Relief is safe to use if you have ever had glaucoma
May cause temporary mydriasis
Use caution in hypertension, coronary artery disease, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism
Discontinue and seek medical advice if the following occur: eye pain, changes in vision, redness or irritation of the eye lasts >72 hr
Wash hands before using eye medication
To be used exactly as directed on label, or as prescribed by the doctor
Not for use while wearing soft contact lenses; a preservative in this medication could permanently stain lenses; use medicine at least 15 minutes before inserting contact lenses
Use only the number of drops recommended on label
Do not touch tip of eye dropper or place it directly on eye; a contaminated dropper can infect the eye, which could lead to serious vision problems
Do not use if medication has changed colors or looks cloudy

1-2 gtt to affected eye q6-12hr
Not to exceed 72 hours of use
