Diloxanide Furoate and Metronidazole

    Diloxanide furoate is used for treating amoeba infections. While metronidazole acts as an antibiotic (acts against bacterial infections) & antiprotozoal (acts against protozoal infections) medication.

    Acute amoebiasis, Chronic amoebiasis, Hepatic amoebiasis and other systemic diseases due to E. histolytica, Giardiasis. 

    The patients using this medicine may experience the following:

    • Abdominal pain
    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Headache
    • Dizziness

    Avoid its use if you are allergic to diloxanide furoate or metronidazole, or any other ingredient present in entamizole tablets

    Avoid drinking alcohol while taking entamizole tablets

    Before using entamizole ds tablets, inform doctor if using medications like alcohol, anticoagulants, ciclosporin, antimicrobials, cimetidine, fluorouracil, phenytoin, lithium, or phenobarbital as entamizole may interact with these and produce side effects

    It should be very cautiously used in neurodegenerative disorder of the brain (e.g. multiple sclerosis) & in epilepsy or any other convulsion disorders.

    Entamizole tablets can make your vision blurred or cause dizziness. So you should avoid performing high alert activities.

    • Diloxanide furoate 500mg
    • Metronidazole 400mg

    Each tab contains:

    • Diloxanide furoate 250mg
    • Metronidazole 200mg
