    Pheniramine Maleate is antihistamine. It is effective in allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis, mild urticaria, angioedema, and in allergic reactions to blood and plasma in sensitive patients. It is widely used as an ingredient in cold and cough preparations.

    Pheniramine Maleate is primarily used in conditions like Allergy, Angioedema, Angiooedema, Asthma, Conjuctivitis, Dermatitis, Eczema, Hay fever, Perennial rhinitis, Rhinitis, Urticaria, Vasomotor rhinitis, Vertigo.

    Pheniramine Maleate is contraindicated in conditions like Prostatic hypertrophy, Hypersensitivity.

    The side effects of Pheniramine Maleate, which give rise to further complications include Hallucinations.

    The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of this medicine include Hyperthermia, Sedation, Dry mouth, Hallucinations, Dizziness, Dermatitis, Toxic psychosis, Muscular weakness, Palpitations.

    The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Pheniramine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Tachycardia, Tremors, Constipation, Nervousness, Dry mouth, Blurred vision, Sedation, Muscle weakness, Coordination disturbances, Lassitude, Urinary retention, nervousness.

    Pheniramine should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or lactation. It should be used with caution in patients with any eye problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorder, heart disease, asthma or allergies, especially to sulfites. should not be coadminister in patient who are already on a MAOI therapy because MAOI intensify or prolong the cholinergic effect of antihistamine and therefore it should be avoided in such conditions.

    Drug should not be given to Paediatrics, Pregnant Mothers, Geriatrics, and Neonates.

    Adult Dosage

    25 to 150 mg/24 hourly /PO

    May be given twice daily

    Paedriatic Dosage (20kg

    0.726 to 1.816 mg/kg /24 hourly /Intra Muscular

    0.75 mg/kg /8 hourly /PO

    Neonatal Dosage (3kg)

    1.13 to 2.83 mg/kg /24 hourly /Intramuscular

    For above 6 month of child
